FUNCTIONAL ELEGANCE

COUNTRY HILLS

Larry, Carrie, and their family have resided in their current residence for numerous years, relishing their community and prime location. Despite their satisfaction, they recognized the need to revitalize their home.

Crafted Edge Homes undertook the transformation by eliminating structural posts and beams from the main floor, resulting in a spacious and uncluttered environment. The kitchen was upgraded with an expanded island, fostering a communal dining experience for the entire family. Additional storage was seamlessly integrated into the kitchen cabinets with the addition of a broom closet, addressing a previous deficiency on the main floor.

Despite the newfound openness, a conscious effort was made to maintain some separation between spaces. A privacy detail was introduced between the foyer and dining room, contributing to the overall aesthetics and functionality of the home. Furthermore, a cantilever was strategically added to one side of the home, expanding the mudroom and laundry room and enhancing the usability of the space for the family.

The Before and After photos below vividly showcase the remarkable changes implemented to rejuvenate this home.

BEFORE RENOVATION

Leon and Camille W - Country Hills

How/why did you pick Crafted Edge Homes?

A:  We came across Crafted Edge at a Home Renovation show and immediately felt comfortable and confident during that initial meeting and conversation.  We also had a friend who had completed a project with Crafted Edge and between our positive conversations and our friends positive recommendation we felt confident with selecting Crafted Edge for our project.

What was your experience like?

A:  We had a very good experience.  We had very specific requirements around the cost and timing of our project and Crafted Edge worked extremely hard to delivery on both with the highest quality.

Which room in your home gave you the biggest challenge?

A:  The kitchen.  Both from the perspective of imagining what the significant transformation would look like and it being the single largest investment in the overall project.  Although it was challenging the team took the time we needed to help us feel comfortable with the choices we made and the result was outstanding.

How was the process during the renovation?

A:  Very good.  The communication was excellent and always responsive to any questions we had.  We had to move out to another part of Calgary during the project but we felt very involved and informed of the work as the project was carried out.

Favourite part of your renovation?

A:  Working with the designer to design and pick out all the new materials (tiles, lights, countertops, etc) and the design elements of the renovation.   Seeing it all come together was an amazing experience.

Service after the renovation was completed

A:  We were very happy with the after renovation service.  The team did not leave us until we were completely satisfied.

Any final comments or stories you’d like to share

A:  This was a major renovation and investment for us that started with trying to figure out how to expand our laundry room to doing that plus a complete main floor renovation, new siding and new windows.  We had some special requirements and the team worked with us to address these even at the cost of having to do some re-work.  We could not be happier with the final product and now, almost 3 years later, we still feel like we are living in a brand new home.
