This main and second floor renovation reimagines a classic early-2000s Calgary home with a more refined, functional, and timeless approach to family living. Designed for the style of homes commonly found throughout Panorama, Kincora, Tuscany, Royal Oak, Cranston, and surrounding communities, the renovation focuses on modernizing the layout while preserving warmth and familiarity.

To improve flow and functionality, the existing main floor office was removed, allowing for a significantly expanded kitchen and laundry room. Structural modifications, including relocating the kitchen beam forward by two feet, created space for a larger island that now anchors the main living area.

The kitchen combines painted maple perimeter cabinetry with a stained maple island for added warmth and contrast. Panel-ready appliances, open shelving, and a custom hood fan detail elevate the design while maintaining practicality for everyday living. Finished in Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Grey, the palette feels soft, timeless, and inviting.

Throughout the second floor, new hardwood flooring and updated hardwood stairs bring continuity and warmth to the home. The ensuite was redesigned as a relaxing retreat featuring stained maple vanities, a freestanding tub, and a full tile shower for a clean, elevated feel.

Additional updates include a functional laundry room with built-in folding space and storage, new windows throughout the home, and a redesigned fireplace wall complete with built-in cabinetry and full-height tile detail to create a more architectural focal point within the great room.

The result is a thoughtfully updated home that feels brighter, more functional, and tailored to modern family living while remaining timeless enough to age beautifully over time.
